I’m not sure to be worried or pissed that Jake and that boat of his are nowhere to be found. I hope they’re very happy together.
I’m sorry but did I hear you correctly?

Someone left the island?
And I thought they were hotshot detectives…
I heard she’s best friends with your son. Why would she try to pin the blame on you, his mother?
Even if it means marrying someone you don’t approve of?
Oh, I don’t know. People do things when they’re desperate. You of all people should know that.

Even if I don’t approve of her, it’s my son’s happiness at stake here. That being said, Emily is a… Wonderful person.

Is there any reason why Miss York would lie about something like that? She has nothing to gain.
And do you dislike it? Having things not go the way you planned them?
I don’t know. I guess some locals here are just so disgruntled that they blame us for everything.

As a mother, of course I had my reservations about this place but in the end, I just want my Derek to be happy.

It is a small town, and people usually see things. Miss York said that she saw you and John Wakefield kissing.
Is that why you planned on holding the wedding here? Despite knowing that people, possibly friends of your family, died here?
Me and John Wakefield kissing? That’s ridiculous, Detective. In fact, that’s extremely disrespectful and uncalled for.

If I had it my way, Detective, the wedding wouldn’t have been held here but it was really Derek and Emily’s idea. All their friends are here after all and it is the place that they met.

Did you know him personally? Speak to him before? Even if only for a quick moment?
I didn’t take it that you liked it on the island at all, Mrs. Anderson, regardless of town history.
Detective Walker, it’s a small town. Everyone knew each other.

Of course Harper’s Island is no New York. It was quaint and very different from the city but I must say that I grew to love it. It was a pity we had to pack up and leave.

Actually, something has been discovered, Mrs. Anderson.
What is your relationship with John Wakefield?
Detective Walker?

John Wakefield? As far as I’m concerned, that murderer was a wolf among sheep. Harper’s Island used to be a lovely town and if it wasn’t for that scoundrel, my family would still be living here.

Apparently, nothing has been discovered.
